We are delighted to be able to include the song "Peace for your Christmastime" in our episode on Friendship at the Holidays. We're very grateful to talented Colorado couple who wrote and perform the song, Dave and Tara Powers , for the permission to use it.

What prompted us to include this song was the realism of the lyrics, which touch our own experience at what should be a Joyous and peaceful time of year.
Dave Tara write:
"In the middle of our fears, we don't knowe who trust," and "What happens next, we still don;t know."

For many people at this time of year -- particularly at what may be a time of fear and uncertainty about the future of our country, these lyrics hit home, managing to couch our anxieties in a context of peace and love. No easy task. These particular lyrics touched us; Perhaps they will strike a nerve with you as well:

In the wild of this season
Walking through the wilderness
In the cold and dark December night
We just keep on going
On this road that is beneath us
Through the ups and through the downs
Peace, peace, peace for your Christmastime
Grace for your family and hope in your heart
Peace, peace, peace for your Christmastime
Joy for your family and love in your home
In the middle of our fears
We don’t know who we can trust
Full of courage, looking to the stars
What happens next, we still don’t know
But we feel pregnant with this hope
That we’ll find the place where peace is born
Peace, peace, peace for your Christmastime
Grace for your family and hope in your heart
Peace, peace, peace for your Christmastime
Joy for your family and love in your home
So much anxiety and fear
Where can we go to find rest?
now is falling all around
Looking for some covered ground
So many questions that remain
But deep down what we need is
Peace, peace, peace for your Christmastime...
