Carol Green was hatched at Bryn Mawr Hospital outside of Philadelphia. She grew up in the outskirts of the so-called “City of Brotherly Love” until she fled to Syracuse University for art school. The tumultuous times of the late 60’s swept her up into various and sundry happenstances around the country - Boston, New York City, Mill Valley and Berkeley.

 

Early career moves had her working as an assistant in the science lab of the Franklin Institute, stringing beads at a headshop In Philadelphia known as the 13th Street Conspiracy, selling hot dogs and black and white cookies as a candy girl at the Fillmore East, and Yucatan hammocks on the Lower East Side. In the summer of 1969, she and her boyfriend, Stephen Ostram, drove their VW bus to Upstate New York to report for work at a psychedelic barn in the middle of nowhere.   Steve joined the stage crew while Carol  became the cook for the crews that built the original Woodstock Festival.

 

Subsequent adventures and eventual more “grown up” pursuits include her becoming a producer for the CBS station in Los Angeles; a publicist for well-known actors, actresses and filmmakers; associate producing a number of nationally syndicated celebrity TV specials; being an executive at PolyGram Films and ultimately working as a unit publicist on more than 30 movie sets. Film credits include Cape Fear, Bad Boys, Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead, The Thornbirds and Law Abiding Citizen with directors such as Martin Scorsese, Sidney Lumet and Michael Bay and casts that featured Robert De Niro, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Marisa Tomei, Ethan Hawke, Barbara Stanwyck, Ice Cube and many more. She is the mother of Cassidy Ace Fry and a lifelong member of the Woodstock Nation.
